Pekanbaru, Riau, (ANTARA News) - Greenpeace environmental activists continued their interception of crude palm oil (CPO) shipments in Dumai port waters here Tuesday.
The activists tied themselves to the anchor's chain of Gran Couva, a CPO tanker. The tanker belonged to Wilmar Group, was leaving for Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
Earlier, the activists also painted "Forest Crime" on the bodies of three CPO tankers and a barge carrying logs berthed in the Dumai port Monday (Nov 10).
"We will stop until we are sent away," said Nabiha Shahab, a South Asian Greenpeace campaigner.
Greenpeace had been intercepting CPO shipments in Dumai port waters to protest rampant deforestation in Indonesia.(*)
